一说到开关,大家都不陌生,如我们家里的灯开关、家用电器的开关等,这些开关都是可以用手控制的,按一下就开,按一下又关。

然而,在电子电路中,本来各种电子元器件就很小,要再装一个手控的开关就会占用很大空间。另外,电子电路经常涉及到高频信号,也就是说,开关通断的切换速度要非常快,手控就更不现实了,那该怎么办呢?答案就在于开关管!

所谓开关管,其实就是各种半导体器件,如二极管、三极管、场效应管、晶闸管和IGBT等,这些半导体器件都可用作电子开关,控制电路的导通和关断。其中场效应管(本文均指MOS管)和IGBT都是全控型开关管,换言之,IGBT和MOS管在电路中的导通和关断都是可以用触发信号控制的。那这IGBT和MOS管有没有区别呢?显然是有的。
MOS管和IGBT都是常见的开关管,常用在开关电源、变频器、电动汽车等的电路板中。IGBT和MOS管的特性很相似,驱动方法也基本相同,绝大多数场合它们都是作为电子开关来使用。

从管脚来看,IGBT的3个管脚(正面)依次为栅极、集电极和发射极,MOS管的3个管脚(正面)依次为栅极、漏极和源极。从栅极管脚上可以看出,IGBT和MOS管都属于绝缘栅型管,而IGBT的另2个管脚“集电极和发射极”显然和三极管的管脚相同。
综上,我们不难发现,IGBT其实就是MOS管和三级管的复合体,所以称为绝缘栅双极型晶体管,又称场效应三极管。IGBT充分利用了场效应管和三极管的优点,具有高电压、高输入阻抗、热稳定性好、电压驱动型、大电流等优点。
从外观上看,IGBT明显要比一般的MOS管大,看大小就知道IGBT是大功率元器件,事实也正是如此。IGBT主要用于大功率环境下,通常功率都在千瓦以上,比如电磁炉、电焊机中常常看到IGBT。而场效应管主要用于中小功率环境中,比如中小功率开关电源。
相较于MOS管,IGBT的最主要优势是耐高压,大功率,一般耐压在几百伏以上,功率可以达到几千到几十万瓦。而且IGBT在大功率环境下,压降几乎保持不变,可以一直保持在1.2-2伏左右,过载能力强,不易损坏。
而场效应管一般在低压,中小功率环境下使用,功率一般在1000瓦以下。低压低电流环境中,使用场效应管更有优势,因为场效应管的内阻小,在低电流情况下压降要低于IGBT,而且开关速度也比IGBT快,所以一般开关电源里,常常选用场效应管。
总结一下,就是高压、千瓦功率以上的用IGBT,低压中小功率的环境用场效应管。
另外,前文说到,MOS管和IGBT的驱动方法基本相同,这里也简单说一下。MOS管和IGBT都是电压控制器件,控制极G(栅极,1脚)几乎不消耗电流,有手指也能打开它。

两者的3个管脚中,我们可以简单把2脚、3脚当作机械开关的两端,而1脚当作机械开关的切换按钮,怎么触发这个开关呢?简单,我们只需给1脚加一个正向触发电压,2脚3脚就能导通。IGBT的饱和触发电压要比MOS管高一些,大概在15-18伏左右,但它们的栅极最高驱动电压都不超过20伏。
MOS管和IGBT的控制极都有极电容效应,可以保持G极电压,换言之,只要给控制极一个短暂的电压,23脚就能保持接通,即使此时控制极的信号已经被撤掉。

关闭IGBT和MOS管的方法也很简单,只需将G极接地放电或加一个反向电压。原则上关断电压0V就够了,但一般为了安全性和可靠性都会用负压关断,例如关断电压为-15V、-9V等。
